BOTOX® Cosmetic
The appearance of frown lines, crow’s feet, and wrinkles along the face can be significantly reduced with BOTOX® Cosmetic. The most popular non-surgical aesthetic enhancement treatment available, BOTOX® Cosmetic is designed to smooth out signs of aging and stress for a more youthful appearance.
Wrinkles and creases often form because of muscle contraction in the affected area. The BOTOX® Cosmetic solution is composed of a highly-diluted form of botulinum toxin type-A, which works to temporarily prevent muscles in the treatment areas from contracting, leading to a smoother and more refreshed look.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is injected into the areas targeted for treatment using a very fine needle. The treatment area can be numbed so that you feel as comfortable as possible. BOTOX® injections typically take about 15 to 30 minutes to complete. After the procedure, you may experience some redness and swelling around the treatment sites; however, these effects should fade quickly. Most patients are able to return to normal daily activities immediately after the procedure.
The effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic can often last from three to six months, and can be maintained with follow-up treatment.
JUVÉDERM®
JUVÉDERM® is an injectable dermal filler that can not only reduce the appearance of deep wrinkles and nasolabial folds (lines between the nose and mouth), but also plump up the lips and add volume to the cheeks. Composed of hyaluronic acid, a substance that occurs naturally in the human body, JUVÉDERM® does not require an allergy test before treatment. With JUVÉDERM®, the lips can be made fuller, cheeks that have taken on a hollow appearance can be enhanced, and signs of aging such as wrinkles and creases can be diminished.
Injections of JUVÉDERM® are made with an ultra-fine needle into the target areas. The treatment sites can be numbed before the injection to reduce discomfort. The entire procedure can take less than 30 minutes to complete. Some swelling and bruising in the treatment areas can be expected after JUVÉDERM® injections; however, this is temporary and should dissipate quickly. Patients are often able to resume normal daily routines right after the procedure.
The results of JUVÉDERM® treatment typically last from six to nine months, and even up to a year in many cases. You can also keep the effects going with occasional “touch-up” treatments.
