We strive to give children extra attention and care, with our prime objective being the creation of trust and confidence.
All fillings are bio-compatible and tooth colored. Nothing is done by force, but with understanding and mutual trust. Most children do quite well without any kind of extra medication to accomplish treatment. However, sometimes medications are needed to help kids to be comfortable and cooperate to accomplish extensive treatment.
Tooth Colored Fillings and Mercury Filling Removal
Dr. Marla Wilson uses only mercury free dentistry techniques when applying fillings to teeth affected by cavities or decay. Mercury fillings, also known as amalgam fillings, were the standard in dental treatment for many years, until research showed the potentially harmful effects on some individuals the substance can cause. People who still have mercury fillings can have them replaced with tooth-colored fillings at our practice. Dr. Wilson can safely remove your old mercury fillings and replace them with a durable composite resin designed to not only fill in the cavity, but also look like your natural tooth.
Dr. Wilson is currently working to become an accredited member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine & Toxicology, an organization devoted to research and education on the dangers of mercury (amalgam) fillings and their safe removal and disposal. The IAOMT has been leaders in this area, and its members have testified before Congress and other government bodies about the effects of dental mercury on our environment and the importance of eradicating mercury from the waste stream of dental practices, in addition to educating the public on the dangers of mercury fillings.

Had my initial cleaning and digital x-rays taken. The staff each greeted me, shook my hand, introduced herself and went over my dental history, needs and concerns. Dr. Wilson examined my mouth, saw that I needed some improvement in the night guard I brought in and immediately shaved it along the sides so it would be slimmer and fit better. She pointed out problem areas on the colored pictures of each tooth so I would be better informed on the course of action that needs to be taken.
