Holistic Dentistry follows a Whole Body Wellness Approach
Also known as “Biological dentistry” and often associated with the term, “Green Dentistry”, Holistic or Biological Dentists incorporate the principal of dental care that provides:
- Optimum Health (teeth and gums are free of infection, cavities, or worn out leaking fillings)
- Non-toxic Restorative Materials and Dental Products (individual tests can be done for biocompatibility)
- Stability (the teeth and gums are strong and sturdy)
- Function (the normal purpose and use of the teeth, gums and the jaw)
- Comfort ( a natural relaxed feeling)
- Aesthetics or Cosmetic Dentistry (pleasing attractive appearance)
At Premier Dental Care, our goal is to provide dentistry that enhances your overall health and improves the quality of your life. We emphasize treatment that integrates the best of traditional and alternative approaches. It requires a commitment to finding new approaches that are biocompatible and less invasive.
We will be happy to assist you by recommending several natural products available in health food stores that can be beneficial to your dental health and maintenance.
What is biological dentistry?
Biological dentists recognize the impact of toxic materials and relate it to dental and physiological health. These dentists use materials and procedures in their practices that are non-toxic and systemically compatible. They see the dental condition in relation to overall health. What is the most toxic ingredient used by conventional dentists?
“Silver” amalgam fillings are 50 percent mercury. Mercury is the most toxic, non-radioactive element on the earth. Published research demonstrates that mercury is more toxic than lead, cadmium, or arsenic
Setting Green Dentistry as our moral priority
Green dentistry is a “whole-earth” approach to tooth care that reduces the environmental impact of dentistry, considers the Holistic Health of the whole body, and creates a caring environment for our clients.
Currently our patients are exposed to 90% less radiation with the use of our digital imaging technology instead of X-rays for tooth imaging. This also eliminates the need for toxic X-ray development chemicals. When using Digital X-rays there are no lead foils in the film packets which eliminate the lead waste and removes any potential disposal problems. The use of steam based-surgical grade instrument sterilization reduces water use and contains no harmful chemicals. We also use Bio-Compatible materials such as ceramics which are healthier for long term use versus traditional materials.
